KHABIB NURMOGOMEDOV plans to visit Cain Velasquez, his friend, in prison ahead of his murder trial.
In March, the former UFC heavyweight champion was arrested and charged for attempted murder after he allegedly shot and wounded a man in his truck during a high-speed chase in San Jose, California.

The bail of the former UFC heavyweight champion was denied twice.
Velasquez was denied bail for the second time. He has been charged with several felonies including attempted murder, shooting at motor vehicles or aircrafts, assault with firearms, assault with deadly weapons, willfully discharging firearms from a vehicle, and carrying a loaded firearm in an intent to commit a crime.
Nurmagomedov also hopes to visit his AKA colleague to offer him moral support during his most difficult time in his life.
He said to TMZ, "In Russia we can go see anyone. I don't understand the U.S. law. I want to see him.
"After a few days, I'm going to be in San Jose. I would like to meet him, shake his hands, and give him my best energy.

"Anyone in the world who values himself and loves his family will do the same thing.
"Nobody will think about the law or anything when they have something to do with family.
You have to protect your family. Protecting your family is what animals do. Humans must also protect them.
Velasquez was denied bail by Judge Shelyna brown earlier this month because of his "reckless disregard for life".

"You must always be fair. It's not fair."
Russian said: "Never in him life -- he is 40-years old -- never have had problems [socially] with people, [in] the] gym."
"He is the most respectable man I have ever met in my entire life. I trained with him for more than 10 years. I also know his family and everyone loves Cain.
Velasquez was crowned UFC heavyweight champion by defeating WWE star Brock Lesnar in the first round.
The belt was lost to Junior dos Santos in his maiden defense of the title the next November, but he regained it with a decision win over the Brazilian 13 months later.
Velasquez was able to defend the belt twice before Fabricio Werdum took it in 2015.
Velasquez ended his MMA career in October 2019, seven months after a 32 second loss to Francis Ngannou, the current heavyweight king.

His retirement opened the door to a brief stint with the WWE where he renewed his rivalry against Lesnar.
He was forced to quit the top promotion in wrestling, April 2020, due to budget cuts by Covid.
