Manny Pacquiao, the legendary Filipino boxer, is in discussions to make a comeback in Saudi Arabia. Despite retiring in 2021 after a loss to Yordenis Ugas, Pacquiao has hinted at a return to the ring.
Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor Possible Opponents
Pacquiao has been keeping busy with exhibition fights and has been meeting with boxing officials in Saudi Arabia regarding a potential return. The 42-year-old is eyeing a rematch with Floyd Mayweather, who he lost to in 2015, or a crossover clash against Conor McGregor.
Manny Pacquiao's advisor, Sean Gibbons, revealed that discussions are taking place, and Pacquiao has been in contact with Turki Alalshikh, the chairman of the Saudi General Entertainment Authority. While McGregor has announced his upcoming UFC fight in June, the possibility of a Pacquiao-McGregor bout could be revisited along with a Mayweather rematch. Gibbons expressed confidence in Pacquiao's ability to take on these fights, stating that he could do them "at 100 years old, off the couch with ease."
McGregor, who made his boxing debut against Mayweather in 2017, suffered a defeat. The two fighters had previously held talks about a potential fight, but legal issues between their respective camps prevented it from happening. While McGregor's current UFC commitments make him unavailable as an opponent, Pacquiao still considers a bout with the Irishman to be a fantasy.
