Brutal Injury
Mayra Bueno Silva, 32, showcased her battle scars with photos of her stitched-up head following UFC 303. The Brazilian fighter endured a horror movie-like cut above her right eye, courtesy of a vicious elbow from Macy Chiasson during the event.
Second Straight Loss
Silva, who recently challenged for the women's bantamweight title in January, aimed to bounce back from a defeat to Raquel Pennington. Unfortunately, Chiasson's well-placed elbow in the second round of UFC 303 led to Silva's second consecutive loss.
Severe Wound
The perfectly placed elbow caused a gaping wound above Silva's right eye, with blood flowing immediately. Despite initial objections to the fight stoppage, the severity of the injury became clear when the doctor confirmed the cut was "down to the bone."
Post-Stitches Revelation
Following the fight, Silva shared an image of her stitched-up wound on social media, revealing a large scar above her left eye. With plenty of healing still ahead, the injury is expected to leave a lasting mark on the fighter.
