MMA fans believe Usman cheated on Covington. UFC 268 rematch begins with video of Usman 'faking injuries'

A LOT OF mixed martial arts fans believe Kamaru Usman faked injury in his first match with Colby Covington.

Usman kept his title as welterweight with a fifth round TKO win over his bitter opponent in UFC 245 in December 2019.

The main talking points of the 170lb Classic were the reactions of the Nigerian Nightmare to an accidental eye poke and an apparent groin strike.

After a good body kick from the challenger, Usman grabbed his groin and landed flush on the midriff in the second round.

The 34-year old grabbed his right eye in pain in the third stanza after Covington's fingertips grazed his left.

Referee Marc Goddard intervened both times, much to Covington's frustration.

A few days before the eagerly-anticipated rematch at UFC 268, Madison Square Garden, the pair were in a heated MMA match.

One fan tweeted "Usman was getting beat on points before Colby jaw break."

Colby left a right kick to the liver for Usman, and Usman claimed it was a low blow to make him recover.

Another stated that "Usman faked his way through the fight being dominated."

Another said that Kamaru had cheated and Colby had literally beaten him, then Usman made it seem like a nutshot.

One commented, "Faking a eye poke and a nut shot are cheap tactics. Cheating is cheap." Usman cheated

After being stopped by Usman for hours, Covington took it upon himself to take to Twitter to vent his anger at Marc Goddard.

Chaos tweeted: "Normally people do f***ing at home, not in the octagon @marcgoddard_uk!"

"I go there to kill or be murdered.

"You stole that from me. You took away the right to a fair fight.

"You should be ashamed about yourself. Fake nut shot. Fake eye poke. Fake stoppage. Fake ref

Covington now believes Usman faked injury and says: "I kicked him into the liver, and they called that a nut shot.

"I had him on the wobbly road with the high kick, and he's faking an eye poke on his right eye when it barely touched his left eye. We know he is a terrible actor."
