MMA star is suspended after he makes a horrifying video of himself getting sick 20 times in an attempt to gain weight for Bellator fight

Adam Piccolotti, an MMA fighter, has been suspended for six month after posting a video in which he was ill while trying to lose weight.

Although Georgi Karakhanyan won the Bellator lightweight title, he was defeated by Georgi Karakhanyan in points last weekend, he has been controversial for posting footage from the build up that he later uploaded.

Piccolotti can also be seen crawling from a portable sauna, vomiting yellow fluid and laying on a towel on the ground in the now-destroyed Instagram video.

The American did reach the 156 non-title bout limit. He also claimed that he "continued throwing up more than 20 times throughout the night."

Mike Mazzulli (director of the Mohegan Tribe Department of Athletic Regulation) reacted by calling this weight-cut "unnecessarily hazardous", which led to suspensions.

MMA Fighting was told by Mazzulli that "something needs to be done in order to deter extreme weight reduction."

"It is a sad commentary on fighters who would go to such extremes to lose weight, and believe it to be a badge of honor to do so.

"I thought that we had made a lot of progress since 2002, and now we don't allow IV rehydration or rubber suits. But we still have fighters doing the same thing he did.

Piccolotti's cornermen Mauricio Calvo, Raul Castillo and Matthew Aragoni were all suspended from Piccolotti's office for up to six months.

However, Karakhanyan's victory will not be forgotten.

Bellator has requested Piccolotti's next fight to take place at 160 lbs.

Before he can fight again, he will need to have medical clearance, a report by a kidney specialist, and an electrocardiogram.
