Jake Paul, YouTuber star and 4-0 boxer, is now Jake Paul

He has not extended his contract so far. Josh Thompson believes that the American wants to switch to boxing to fight Paul, rather than a three-part series with Conor McGregor.

Thompson, 43, stated on his Weighing In podcast that he was leaving the UFC to fight Jake Paul. Okay, just stop.

He's leaving the UFC and this is his last fight. He is going to fight Jake Paul.

He's trying to get a fight, he's done fighting MMA. He knows that McGregor will make him twice as much if he wins this fight.

"Conor is not as draw now as he was in the past. Conor is stuck in his contract and he has an eight- or ten-fight deal.

"So he's stayed with the UFC for ever. From a Nate perspective, I believe Nate will leave the UFC and fight Jake Paul in boxing.

McGregor, 33 was defeated by Diaz, 37. The rematch took place in a modern classic five months later.

Despite the two of them regularly arguing online, the trio has yet to decide.

Thompson, however, is the only man to KO Diaz in UFC. He believes that the rubber match could be held in boxing.

He claimed that his former opponent could make over TRIPLE the amount to fight YouTuber-turned 4-0 fighter Paul against McGregor.

Thompson stated: "I know that he can make more from $10 to $15 million (PS10m), to fight Conor, and maybe make $2million (PS2.9m).

"Why?" He can box against someone he knows, but he hasn't had as much experience against him.

"If Nate beats Jake Paul, then Dana can say, 'OK let's fight Nate boxing'. He must first beat Jake Paul, which I can't imagine him doing.

"If he beats Jake Paul, I can see Conor riding Conor in to be like: 'Nate [Conor] boxing makes sense.

"It's a tri-fight, but not a trio fight because it's boxing and not MMA.
