HE WILL MAKE HIS FIRST APPEARANCE IN THE Octagon FOR SIX YEARS, but Nick Diaz says there is 'nothing’ he dislikes about the UFC.
At UFC 266 on Saturday night, Diaz will be taking on Robbie Lawler.
Robbie Lawler and Nick Diaz will face off in Las Vegas for the second time.
They met again 17 years ago, when Diaz won a second-round knockout.
Diaz claimed that he feels trapped in the UFC money machine since his last fight against Anderson Silva in 2015.
ESPN quoted him as saying, "I don't enjoy fighting. It's just something that I do."
"All the people around and all the money and sponsors will not let me stop fighting.
"There are things I could do but it is not going to work out. It's better to just let it go.
"I don’t want to look back at it and wonder, 'Why didn’t I just do it?'" I love to fight, but I don’t feel great about anything.
"But if this isn't done, I don’t know what I’m going to feel two years later if I’m sitting here thinking, 'Why didn’t I just go and fight these fights that I would have won?’"
Diaz answered a question about what he likes about the UFC. This is not something that I enjoy. This is not for everyone.
Lawler and Diaz will face off in a clash of middleweights at Las Vegas' T-Mobile Arena.
On Friday, the pair weighed in. Diaz, 38, weighed in at 185.5 pounds while his opponent weighed in at 1.5 lbs.
Diaz hinted that he would put on a show to entertain the crowds of 20,000 people.
He stated, "I'm happy that the fans are satisfied, and that it's loved by them and that's what keeps them going." That was what got me going as a child."
