Paul Daley, a Bellator icon, says that only Nick Diaz, Jorge Masvidal, and Michael Page would tempt him into MMA retirement

PAUL DALEY believes that Nick Diaz, Jorge Masvidal, and Michael Page would tempt him from retirement.

To lure the 64-fight veteran, who has been in the ring for 19 years, the money must also be "ridiculous".

Daley claimed that he would only fight with Masvidal, Diaz, and MVP to entice him back

Since May, when he stepped out of the octagon in May at Bellator 28,1, the 39-year old has enjoyed simple pleasures such as a packet or two of crisps.

He could win his last knockout loss in a rematch against Diaz and could be in contention to finish Masvidal.

SunSport spoke to him: "The money must be ridiculous or one the legendary fights that people will remember."

"Masvidal, Nick Diaz, and even though it's not a fight people will remember that I said the MVP fight.

Ronda Rousey, UFC legend, is willing to fight Gina Carano in MMA

"The buildup didn't do justice to the scale of the fight. It was in New York. It should have been at Wembley.

"Bellator got that one right. The judges were wrong about the result and Bellator was promoted incorrectly.

"So, if the money was right and all was done correctly that would be a fight worth coming back for.

"Apart of those two fights, or seven figures for Page fight then I'm not interested."

With his fan-pleasing style, Daley was one of the most explosive and dangerous knockout artists.

Despite the worldwide fame and increasing glitz and glamour in MMA, Daley is still a regular guy.

He says that he now feels free to indulge in chocolate bars or crisps since he's put down his gloves.

He said, "It's food. It's the food that I need to think less about. I will eat a packet or two of crisps if I want to have some chocolate bars.

"I train every morning and do cardio for an hour.

"When my hand is stronger, I'll be able to hit the pads again and do Brazilian Jiujitsu when it gets better."

Daley was the first to appear on the Cage Warriors scene in 2003. MMA was not yet widely covered on social media.

The Nottingham legend says he misses the old-school days when Showtime All Access and HBO 24/7 gave future fighters a platform.

He stated, "For me, a lot of stories are being overlooked. This is what attracted me to the sport.

"First, the martial arts aspect. Second, Showtime All Access or HBO 24/7.

"UFC used do their thing when they followed fighters.

"Now, you can only see half of what is posted on social media.

"I attach myself the stories and the sport can grow if fans can genuinely attach to the life of fighters rather than what they see on social media."

Park Royal Hospital was where Daley was born. It is less than 10 minutes from Wembley Arena, the exact place where he bowed out in MMA.

He says that he spent a lot of his early fights at his home for Cage Rage, and it was the ideal place to end his career.

He said, "There was no place else in the world where my career would have been complete."

"The lessons I have learned from the mistakes I made" I would not do it any other way."
