The Professional Fighters League records the speed of strikes to attract a younger audience.
The only seasonal promotion by MMA uses data and analytics in their "SmartCage".
Natan Schulte hit 67.7 mph for a kick
Last year was also the fastest ever punch and kick in PFL history.
Natan Schulte, a lightweight, clocked a kick of 67.7 miles per hour. Carlos Leal's punch came in at 29.3 miles.
PFL is the only MMA organization to have such stats. CEO Peter Murray believes that it appeals to a younger audience.
He stated that "Our three differentiators" are No1 the format of sports, No2 technology, and No3 storytelling.
"Technology has not seen any innovation in combat sport or MMA since 2018's launch of the PFL."
"Our vision for the sport and the league is to cater to this generation of fans, a young fanbase.
"And we expect technology to be part of the experience. We want a more immersive presentation that leverages fight data and fight analytics.
"It's data that we also monetise via betting, so it really MMA 2.0, and it's definitely geared towards that young fanbase and that's where there's the growth."
PFL's league format is a two-bout season where points can be earned for each method of victory.
The top four finishers in each division move on to the semi-finals and final, where they will be awarded a $1million prize check.
The PFL's knockout and qualification format has been compared to the UEFA Champions League.
Murray stated that Murray's vision was to improve the sport and expand it globally as a league.
"We had a vision to create The Champions League of MMA. Now we have five years of experience as an organization and are No2 in the World."
