The Notorious is bigger than ever before his Hollywood debut

McGregor, 34 has gained several pounds during his time away from the cage. This was evident as he took a post-workout photo.

On Saturday morning, the MMA star posted a photo of himself looking jacked on his Instagram.

The Notorious' shoulders and bicep muscles were bulging at their seams and covered with veins.

McGregor chose to add a Black spades emoticon to his photo, rather than include a caption like he does with most of his other gym photos.

His legion of Irishmen-followers were quick to comment with one statement: "Viking."

Another one said, "Beast."

Another said, "Ready to die."

One remarked: "Da big man ting."

Another participant said: "Looks like Conor's fighting this year. He's trimmed down."

One McGregor fan said, "Bro is looking enormous."

McGregor broke his left leg during his Las Vegas trilogy fight against Dustin Poirier in July.

Although the Dubliner was set for an UFC return in autumn, he recently admitted that he is still not able kick properly.

Manager Tim Simspon revealed that he WILL NOT be returning to the octagon in this year's edition.

McGregor told MMAJunkie that he was involved in a Road House remake. He said: "A fun little venture, then switching back to climbing on the mountain again."

It fits perfectly. He is still on track to make a huge return next year.

He said, "Acting was not something Conor had in his mind at the very forefront of his mind. Right now, he's still an elite athlete and his focus it to be the best fighters in the world.

"But, as the injury continues healing and he continues to prepare to make a comeback. The timing worked out well.

"It's an amazing opportunity to do a Hollywood blockbuster in the meantime, and he's going all out to win it.
