DUSTIN POIRIER suggested that Conor McGregor might be fought for the FOURTH TIME, but he revealed that he had not spoken to UFC in over two months.
McGregor beat the American in round one in their 2014 featherweight bout.
He defeated the Irishman in their January 2021 match, setting up a three-fight series last July.
McGregor suffered a fractured tibia and was forced to stop by the doctor.
Since then, he has been recuperating from leg surgery in preparation for a UFC return later this year.
Poirier was asked if the UFC is waiting for McGregor's return to face them one more time.
He replied: "Probably so."
Poirier (33) called to fight Nate Diaz (36), in his own return, but disclosed that talks with the UFC had stopped.
He tweeted, "I don’t know what’s happening. In the past 2 months, I haven’t heard from anyone."
UFC President Dana White recently stated that she met with Nate last Wednesday.
"I don’t know where it led to [as] I just popped by and said hello. But I don’t know what the next step is for him. It will all be figured out."
