In his unanimous defeat to the former champ at 155lb, Moicano, a short-notice replacement, was beat to a pulp.
As a precaution, he was taken to the hospital for further medical checks.
UFC boss Dana White said: "He was transported (to the hospital), for the night.
"We will make sure that he gets three times checked."
After Rafael Fiziev withdrew from the contest, Moicano, a former featherweight, accepted the Battle of Brazil after receiving five days notice.
The loss to RDA ended Moicano's two-fight winning streak. He had been a standout American Top Team fighter and was coming into the contest off wins over Jai Herbert, Alexander Hernandez, and Alexander Hernandez.
