Simeon Ditcheva and Dakota Powell, both British fighters, advance to the PFL Europe final

British fighters Simeon Powell and Dakota Ditcheva have secured their spots in the winner-take-all finale of PFL Europe. After emerging victorious in the Paris semi-finals, Powell and Ditcheva will now compete against each other in the showpiece event on December 8 in Ireland.

Dakota Ditcheva wins semi-final by knockout

Dakota Ditcheva secured her place in the final with a powerful knockout victory. She delivered a devastating left hand to the liver of opponent Cornelia Holm, a shot that her brother Cody is well acquainted with. Ditcheva explained that it's a move she frequently trains and is not surprised by its effectiveness. She stated, "I drop my brother with it all the time! I'm not surprised she went down to be honest."

Simeon Powell progresses to the final

In the light-heavyweight division, Simeon Powell was initially scheduled to fight Abdellah Er-Ramy. However, due to a medical issue, Er-Ramy had to withdraw from the bout. Slovenian fighter Jakob Nedoh stepped in as a last-minute replacement. Powell played it safe and strategically dismantled Nedoh over three rounds to secure his place in the final. Despite the win, Powell faced boos from the crowd due to his cautious approach. He commented after the fight, "I did what I had to do."

What's at stake

The winners of the three-stage PFL Europe tournament not only earn a $100,000 prize but also a spot in the global season. The global season consists of two qualifying rounds where points are earned based on the method of victory. The top four fighters in each weight category progress to the final stage, which follows a win-or-go-home format. The final offers a chance to compete for a coveted title belt and a grand prize of $1 million.
