Stevie Ray, MMA fighter jokes that he should trash-talk like Conor McGregor. He also reveals how he would spend the $1m prize from PFL

Stevie Ray, a MMA star who is softly spoken, joked that Conor McGregor needs to teach him trash-talking. He would also be a big spender just like McGregor.

Ray qualified for the Professional Fighters League's last four rounds, where he is just two wins away with the $1million prize check.

After beating Anthony Pettis, an ex-UFC champion, in July to secure his semi-final spot at the UFC, the quiet Scot stated that he would love to have a loud mouth like McGregor.

The humble lightweight confessed that he was afraid of being too loud and he resisted the temptation to steal the microphone.

Ray, 32, said to SunSport that he sometimes feels a little too humble after his fights.

"I thank my family and my friends always. Sometimes, I feel I need to just say what I'm thinking."

"Sometimes I think about who or what I should call, but I am always concerned that it might not come out right, or maybe it sounds cocky.

"Maybe I need to let out a little more and express how I feel."

The PFL is a two-bout season in which points are earned for each method of victory. The top four qualify for semis.

Alex Martinez beat Ray in his opener, but Pettis stunned him with a round two submission.

He earned five points for his effort, and he was able to secure a place in the final four in New York. There, he rematches Pettis (35), right away.

Ray could do the double over Pettis, which would mean Ray would be in the final fight where only one man is standing in Ray's way of the $1m prize.

Although he can't afford to spend as much as McGregor, McGregor is 34 years old, the British candidate already knows where he would invest the money.

Ray stated: "You have to buy a nice home and a nice vehicle, and once that's done all the foolish spending could possibly come with it.

"The Lamborghini yachts, and all the cars. Yes, I would celebrate if I won the million.

"And then, I would be looking for ways to improve my life and that of my family, such as getting a larger house or the one I currently live in, possibly getting an extension, and perhaps doing some remodeling.

"I'm not sure, to be honest. I'm not looking too far ahead, because I know that even though Pettis won, I cannot look past him.

"I don't want to think about the final yet, my eyes are fixed on Pettis, win this fight, and that's all."
