McGregor broke his tibia in their last-round trilogy bout, and was ultimately stopped by a doctor.

The 33-year old has requested a fourth fight, but Poirier seems uninterested. Money is the only thing that would make him accept an offer.

In a media scrum, he said: "Me & Conor have a past. He beat him seven years later after fighting him at '45.

"Even that fight -- I don't think I will fight Conor again. Conor is not someone I want to fight again. That door is shut for me.

"I would only do it if I had money. He beat me twice in succession. Can you beat my two performances?

"Can I knock him out quicker? Can I 10-7 him What can you do? I've done it.

"If I do it again it's only for money. That's quite a different thing.

UFC is pushing for Diaz to face his long-time opponent in the next fight. Negotiations are underway for a 170lb bout.

Poirier stated: "I believe there's an excellent chance it's going down."

"I believe summer would be a good time to set one, but I don't know, but I feel that it will happen.

"I don't know if I will stay at 170 pounds but this fight makes sense. I want to fight in fights that are meaningful to me.

"Nate is a man I grew up watching fights, I respect him, and I think that stylistically it will be fun for all the fans.

"This fight is a Fight of the year type of fight and those are the fights I want."

Both were originally set to fight in 2018, but it was cancelled. They both wanted to reschedule, before it is too late.

Diaz, 36, said he plans to retire after his cage return, but Poirier (33) isn't so sure.

He said, "I don’t believe that." Nate, he has that dog in him. He will fight for his life.

"We'll watch what happens. But I believe he still has a lot to fight. However, there's no telling what his plans are or his exit strategy.

"I want to fight, and I believe he also wants it."
