JON JONES is still the UFC's best dog after years of dominance - despite recent inactivity.
The American is the UFC's youngest ever champion at 23 years old. He has suffered only one disputed disqualification on his 28-fight record.
UFC stars Israel Adesanya & Kamaru Usman pound-for–pound
While he is not yet back from the coronavirus pandemic he has remained at the top of the UFC's "pound-for-pound" list.
Many are trying to catch up with him, but Conor McGregor, the Irish star who has lost three out of his last four fights, is not.
SunSport breaks down the UFC's top ten P4P men's rankings.
1. Jon Jones
In his early years of his career, Jones beat legends like Rampage Jackson and Lyoto Machida.
Alexander Gustafsson and Daniel Cormier were his most recent wins. Both are either now retired or on the sidelines.
Jones' invisibility was weakened by controversial points wins over Thiago and Dominick Santos.
Although a move to heavyweight was discussed to revive his career, pay disputes with UFC have kept that switch off the ice.
2. Kamaru Usman
After winning the belt from Tyron Whiteley in 2019, the welterweight champion has been one of Dana White's most dominant fighters.
He has been a top attraction in UFC thanks to wins over Gilbert Burns, Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal.
Usman is a champion because of his combination of impressive grappling skills and newfound striking ability.
He is now the No1 player in the world, with Jones being inactive and Khabib Nurmagomedov retiring.
3. Israel Adesanya
Because of his striking and unique style, the New Zealander is a fan-favourite.
Adesanya defeated Anderson Silva, a middleweight icon, in 2019. He also won the title against Robert Whittaker that year.
He was almost unstoppable when he moved up from light-heavyweight to this year, but was defeated on points by Jan Blachowicz.
Adesanya was then promoted to middleweight by beating Marvin Vettori, his old rival. This proved that he is still one of the top fighters in the world.
4. Alexander Volkanovski
Volkanovski, the current featherweight champion, is undefeated at the UFC. He won the title against Max Holloway in 2019 and is currently the king of featherweight.
He won the rematch a year later, but controversially as the scorecards were questionable.
Volkanovski's record includes a double victory over Holloway, wins against Brazilian legend Jose Aldo and Chad Mendes.
He defends his crown against Brian Ortega in the second defense on September 25 at UFC 266.
5. Francis Ngannou
Ngannou was a fighter in the UFC, and six stoppages later, he was vying for the heavyweight title.
He was defeated on points by Stipe Mocic in 2018, and then returned gun-shy to Derrick Lewis the following year.
Ngannou learned a valuable lesson from it, winning four consecutive belts before rematching Miocic in March.
"The Predator" completed his turnaround with a spectacular KO, and he entered the P4P discussion.
6. Dustin Poirier
Poirier is a legend to UFC fans. He has won the undisputed title, and has been able to do it all.
In 2019, he won the interim lightweight title against Holloway, but was defeated by Khabib for full victory a year later.
He knocked out McGregor in January - seven years since their first fight. In July, McGregor won the trilogy after sustaining a leg injury.
He has eight wins in nine and is now ready to face Charles Oliveira who was recently crowned champion. A win over the Brazilian could propel him into the top three.
7. Jan Blachowicz
After a string of seven wins in eight fights, the Polish puncher experienced a revival in his career 2017.
He was positioned to compete for the title of light-heavyweight in September 2020, which Jones had vacated.
Blachowicz completed his Cinderella story when he upset Reyes to win the vacant crown.
His successful defense against Adesanya, the superstar of the game, is what made him a star and showed that he can mix it well with the best in the world.
8. Stipe Miocic
Miocic holds the record with three heavyweight title defenses and has won it twice.
In 2016, he won the first belt, but Daniel Cormier took it in 2018. He then had a historic trio with the Olympian and later won twice.
Miocic gave up the title to Ngannou, but he hinted that he would not retire.
His records-breaking achievements in the division keep him in the top tier of the UFC stable.
9. Max Holloway
American is one the most recognizable fighters and strikers in history.
Before losing to Volkanovski, he made four defenses of the featherweight title. Many feel that he should have won the rematch.
Holloway showed his class when he returned to the University in January and raped Calvin Kattar.
He could have another shot at the title, and possibly Volkanovski. But it is clear that he is one the most gifted fighters in the entire world.
10. Charles Oliveira
After six fights between 2015 and 2017, the Brazilian was 3-3. It appeared that his UFC future was in doubt.
Oliveira won nine consecutive titles, including the lightweight title, in a remarkable run that ran from 2018-2021.
After Khabib had vacated the title, he beat Michael Chandler and completed an extraordinary turnaround for Oliveira.
Poirier will be next to challenge the new lightweight ruler. It will be his biggest fight yet.
