"I was able to fish. Being in a gang means you have to be vigilant.
"I chased the American Dream, which was hard but worth it. My greatest achievement is seeing my children smile and knowing that they love me.

They don't know that having a girlfriend or fighting in front them is a relationship. They are men I am making."
Ortiz is also the father of Jacob, a 19-year-old son from his first marriage. He revealed that he is very strict with all three of his children.
He stated, "It's an entirely different world now than when I was growing-up."
"My children, I cannot imagine them living the same life as I did at a young age. But me becoming a father has changed everything.
"I did something that my father never did. That is, I have three smart boys. Jacob is 19 and he is enrolled at Arizona University.
"Then, there are my twins A Students. They are important to me and I am making sure they get educated.
"It was difficult for me growing up because I didn't have a father figure growing up.
It was difficult to see movies and feel the emotions.
"Now, I can do right by my children - no cell phone for my boys. The elder one has one, but the younger ones don't.
"They don't have i-Pads. They are attached to their cell phones, and their friends also have them.
"If they have phones or i-Pads, they don't want a conversation."
Ortiz fought his last MMA fight in 2019. He then switched to boxing, but was defeated in the first round by Anderson Silva (46).
He stated that "one punch changes it." Mixed martial arts, however, focuses on closing the gap by trying to punch, punch and punch. However, it is not the same as boxing.
