The Return of Tony Ferguson

Former interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson is making his highly anticipated return to the octagon this weekend at UFC 291. The fan favorite will be facing off against Bobby Green on the prelims of the stacked card in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Shocking Media Day Incident

During the UFC 291 media day, Tony Ferguson shocked everyone in attendance by pulling out a knife while discussing his training camp. The MMA veteran revealed that he and his team had to fend off a bear during their camp in Big Bear, California.

Hunting and Tracking Skills

Ferguson, known as 'El Cucuy', explained the bear encounter by saying, "We had a bear which was around our camp. So I ended up going to f***ing track it down. We found his water hole. I am a hunter, do you guys realise that? I started hunting when I was little, but I just don't like to kill s****, I like to track."

The fighter went on to discuss how his camp utilized tracking skills for their training, saying, "Bobby utilised this whole entire camp to be like a sniper. You got to find it in and out, and have your bought, and make sure you get the job done."

Knife-Wielding Protection

When asked about tracking the bear, Ferguson grabbed a huge black knife and proudly stated, "It's blades and shades, I don't f*** around. I have to protect my camp." The fighter then described how he and his family were cautious while tracking the bear, using two points of access to stay safe.

"So when we were out there and we saw the camp going out there, it used to be funny when we used to say, 'Hey, well if you guys have a chance and see a bear, run down the hill as fast as you can'," Ferguson said.

Ferguson's Fighting Comeback

Despite the bear encounter and his knife-wielding ways, Tony Ferguson is focused on making a strong comeback in the octagon. The 39-year-old fighter is determined to pick up his first win in four years, facing off against fellow MMA veteran Bobby Green, who is currently on a five-fight losing streak. Ferguson's last fight ended in a brutal and viral KO loss to Michael Chandler.
