Tyson Fury would "dismantle" Francis Ngannou in a boxing fight if a 'dangerous rule change was not implemented by the UFC, according to a UFC ace

TYSON FURY would “dismantle” Francis Ngannou in the boxing ring, claims former UFC middleweight champion Robert Whittaker.

Retired boxer Fury vowed to fight Ngannou after his victory over Dillian Whyte in April.

The Cameroonian wants permission from the UFC to face Fury

The Cameroonian claimed: “We’re going to find out who the Baddest Motherf***er on the Planet is.”

In Whittaker’s opinion the bout wouldn’t be close, unless a potentially dangerous rule change was implemented.

Speaking to the Mail, the Aussie said: “Tyson Fury will dismantle Ngannou in a boxing fight.

“Tyson Fury is phenomenal – big fan, by the way – he’s a living legend and he’s just so good at what he does. He is built for it. His reach and his height is stupid.

“That’s not diminishing Ngannou, he’s a serious fighter with phenomenal power, but Fury has fought the biggest hitters in the world.

“For Ngannou to have a good shot at winning in a boxing fight it would have to be with smaller gloves. Four-ounce gloves, that would be so dangerous – it wouldn’t go past the first.”

Heavyweight boxers are accustomed to wearing 10-ounce gloves for their fights.

Ngannou, 35, became UFC heavyweight champion last year by defeating Stipe Miocic in Las Vegas.

He defended his belt against Ciryl Gane at UFC 270 in January, but has hit a stalemate in talks over a new contract.

It’s claimed that Ngannou wants a clause stipulating that he can fight Fury in a boxing match, with UFC president Dana White having none of it.

Another fighter White has clashed with is Jake Paul, with the Problem Child targeting a bout with Nate Diaz.

The 52-year-old has admitted that the fight “makes sense”, with Diaz begging to be freed from the last fight of his contract.

Whittaker, 31, reckons that Paul would be a good addition to the UFC roster.

He added: “I’d love to see Jake Paul come into the UFC.

“Either we are going to see someone defy all odds or we are going to see a complete beatdown and I am happy for both.

“You can’t go around saying you’re the best fighter in the world if you don’t do mixed martial arts because around the corner is a man that can put you on your back and make you look silly.

“If a grown man can hold another grown man down for 25 mins until their mum comes and picks them up then you got beat up dude, you’ve lost all credit.

“You can’t be the best fighter in the world if a grown-a** man can hold you down, I don’t understand that.

“I think all fighters should come to MMA.”
