Tyson Fury Secures Rematch Clause in Contract with Francis Ngannou in Case of KO

World Heavyweight Boxing Champion, Tyson Fury, has included a rematch clause in his contract for his upcoming fight against former UFC heavyweight champ, Francis Ngannou.

The Gypsy King will face Ngannou in a highly anticipated crossover showdown on October 28 in Saudi Arabia. While Fury is the overwhelming favorite to win the ten-rounder, he has taken precautions to ensure a second fight with Ngannou in case disaster strikes.

Ngannou Confirms Rematch Clause

In an appearance on The MMA Hour, Ngannou confirmed the existence of a rematch clause, stating, "There is a potential rematch clause... I don't know exactly how to explain that language, but yes, there is a rematch inside it." However, Ngannou is unsure if he will be able to exercise the clause if he loses to Fury, saying, "That's what I don't know. We will see how it goes."

Fury's Wait for Revenge

If Fury were to be knocked out by Ngannou, he would have to wait at least six months to seek revenge, as Ngannou is set to make his Professional Fighters League debut early next year. In the meantime, Fury is expected to re-enter negotiations with Oleksandr Usyk for a historic undisputed heavyweight title fight following his clash with Ngannou.

His manager, Marquel Martin, revealed, "The bag is so big, he may actually just drop it on the way to the bank... This is life-changing. This is exactly what we planned and visualized, so we're happy." With regards to his earnings for the fight, Martin added, "Oh, my God. I mean, by far... Just to make [this money] even while being champion, he would've had to fight multiple times just to [be in this ballpark]."
