UFC 271: Medical suspensions with Israel Adesanya, Robert Whittaker and cleared for return soon

Following their rematch, ISRAEL ADESANYA has been granted the green light to make quick turnarounds.

Adesanya, a fan favourite, retained the title of middleweight champion with a unanimous victory in the main event at UFC 271 in Houston.

Derrick Lewis was suspended from April 14th, following his horrific loss to Tai Tuivasa

They were both given short medical suspensions by the Texas Department of Licensing and Registration for their chess matches.

Both of them have been suspended from February 28th to allow for quick turnarounds if they choose.

Fans' favorite Derrick Lewis has been suspended from April 14th, following his second consecutive loss on home turf.

The Black Beast was defeated by Tai Tuivasa in the second round. He has been suspended from all activities until February 20.

Maxim Grishin, Marcelo Rojo and William Knight, respectively, were the recipients of the longest suspensions.

They were both issued 'indefinite bans', but the reasons behind their issuance are not known at this time.

According to TDLR protocol injuries suffered by combatants cannot be disclosed to the general public.

Adesanya, the dominant middleweight king, defeated Whittaker from Australia to win his fourth defense of the 185lb title.

The Nigerian-born Kiwi stated in his post-fight interview that he knew he would bring everything.

"So he had nothing left to lose. "I'm the champion!" I repeat, You want it, come get it."

The Last Stylebender hopes to be busy in 2022, and is aiming for a June showdown against Jared Cannonier.

He stated that he knew June didn't have a pay per view yet but that he was the new dog in his yard. I'm the biggest dog in the yard.

"And I know that the other dog in my yard did some work tonight. "So, yeah, I'm going to be p***ing in the next cage in June. "Watch me."
