Gaethje fought in October 2020 against Khabib Nurmagomedov for the title.
Oliveira is on a remarkable run over the past few years. She beat Michael Chandler to win and then defended the title against Dustin Poirier.
Gaethje is the next most promising contender and will do everything possible to win lightweight gold in Phoenix (Arizona).

Gaethje said that Charles is not as dangerous as Khabib. We've seen him fight many times and his ability to take the damage is different.
"All my criticisms of Charles are from a child that we were discussing, that we all watched grow up, and now we're referring to a man who is confident.
"It's a new person, but ultimately the exact same Charles is there.
"The same Charles who fought Cub Swanson. The same Charles who fought Donald Cerrone.
