UFC ace Conor McGregor's 'WORST FIRST PITCH IN HISTORY' throws at Chicago Cubs game. This will leave commentators stunned

UFC star Conor McGregor threw the first pitch at the Chicago Cubs’ latest Major League Baseball match – but it’ll be remembered for all the wrong reasons.

The Notorious was a special guest at Wrigley Field for the Cubs’ clash with the Minnesota Twins.

But the MMA star proved he likely doesn’t have a career in baseball with a nightmare of a pitch

As is tradition when an MLB club has a celebrity in the house, the Cubs got McGregor to throw the maiden pitch of the match.

But judging from his throwing skills, the UFC’s poster boy won’t be becoming a pitcher any time soon.

A dapper-looking McGregor, who was wearing an expensive-looking suit, missed the receiver by a country mile, so much so the ball nearly hit a fan in the crowd.

MMA fans were quick to comment on the wayward pitch, with one saying: “Conor McGregor nearly taking out a fan with this pitch.”

Another said: “Conor McGregor just threw the worst ceremonial first pitch in the history of life in front of about 30 Cubs fans.”

And another said: “50 cent has arguably the worst first pitch in MLB history.

“Conor McGregor: ‘Hold my beer.'”

One remarked: “This Conor McGregor first pitch might be the worst one ever LOL.”

McGregor’s lightweight rival Justin Gaethje couldn’t help but mock the Irishman’s poor pitch.

The Highlight, who is gearing up for a UFC 268 showdown with Michael Chandler, tweeted: “I cannot stop laughing at this.

“Every MMA fighter that has represented us doing this has looked terrible but this takes the cake.”

McGregor was quick to laugh off his pitch, which he jokingly said was an ‘a little off’ its target.

The UFC’s first simultaneous two-weight world champion: “The most devastating first pitch ever seen!

“The venom was there, the power was there, it’s a little off accurate-wise but I’m on the one leg.

“You can see me base fully on the left leg that was recently just injured. I’m happy with that, I’ll take that on board.

“I don’t think there was much power difference between mine and them out there (the players), it’s just the accuracy was a little off.

“But I’m happy with it. It was either lob it friendly or aim to take him off his feet.

“And if that was on target we would have had a problem, I’d say.”

McGregor, 33, is currently recovering from the broken leg he suffered in his UFC 264 trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier.

The Dubliner shattered his left tibia and fibula in the final seconds of the first round but is already back on his feet.

And Mystic Mac’s faster-than-expected recovery has left him confident he’ll be back kicking in no time.

He told journalist Adam Glynn: “I feel like I could kick right now.

“I honestly feel like I could kick right now, but I’ve just got to listen to the doctors, listen to the people that are guiding me.

“That’s what I’ve done so far, I’ve committed myself to the work and I’m back on the feet.

“It’s so good to be back on the feet.”
