ISRAEL ADESANYA has slammed Ali Abdelaziz, a manager of MMA, for trying to instigate a bout with Kamaru Uman.
Abdelaziz, Dominance MMA chief, recently suggested a champion versus champ bout between the welterweight kings and the middleweight kings.
Kamaru Usman's manager Ali Abdelaziz is talking up a fight against Israel Adesanya
Adesanya was annoyed to see Abdelaziz campaign publicly for a fight among the Nigerians. She told Ariel Helwani, "It bothers also. What the f***ing peanut head is talking about?
"I have made it clear that I do not like this fight.
Adesanya and Usman, both 34 and 32, were the first UFC champions to be born in Africa. Francis Ngannou joined them last March.
And The Last Stylebender would prefer to see Usman and him both hold UFC gold, rather than holding two belts.
He said, "It's larger than us." I can see where he is coming from.
You can still make millions in other ways, don't get me wrong. There are many other fights that you can engage in.
"He [Ali] must give his fighters back his phone, because sometimes he gets on [social media] to talk about all the rubbish.
"This fight is bigger than us. We have three champions in Africa. They are defending their nation within their respective divisions with an iron fist.
Adesanya, a fan favourite, hopes to bring the UFC to Africa one day with Usman and Ngannou.
SunSport quoted him as saying last month that he was satisfied with the 100 percent [it's something I must tick off].
"Because Kamaru, Francis and I are doing right now is history.
"So we have to find a way to make that happen for our people.
"And I feel like doing the card in the continent. The great continent of Africa would be the one.
"So we'll do that. We'll make it happen, hook or by crook.
He said, "They've known [the UFC] about it for some time, so it's going to happen."
It's simply that the climates of everything need to be in sync. It will happen, so yeah.
