RAPPER 50 Cent started the negotiations for Floyd Mayweather's fight against Conor McGregor, a UFC legend.
In August 2017, the two mavericks met and Money Mayweather won by a 10th round stoppage.
The event marked the end of months of trash-talking and build-up between the two, with both fighting codes being captivated.
UFC president Dana White said that a chance meeting between 50 Cent, a long-time friend and foe of Mayweather, was what led to the super-fight.
White stated to ESPN that he believes there is a demand for McGregor vs Mayweather. McGregor vs Mayweather was a demand that I felt, and I knew it would be huge, so we began talking.
"I met 50 Cent in New York and he said that Floyd wanted to fight my boy." I replied, "My boy who?"
"He's like, The Irish kid.' And he'll kill me, because I'm thinking MMA.
"He said, "We'll box him." I replied, "You guys are crazy."
"He said, 'He's serious. "I'll call him now.

"That's when it all started. It was then all I was asked about everywhere I went.
"Then, once I felt it more, I began to consider it seriously and made an offer."
McGregor was defeated by Mayweather in McGregor's debut boxing bout. McGregor officially quit the sport.
At the end of 2018, he returned to Tokyo for an exhibition fight against Japanese kickboxer Tenshin Naukawa.
The 44-year old announced last year that he would be 'coming out from retirement in 2020' to join White for a'spectacular' event.
White, UFC boss, said that they started talking. It's easy to say Floyd and I feel we have value in each other and that we will find a way to communicate this to you.
"Some things must play out, then I'm going start talking to Al Haymon [Mayweather's advisor] maybe this summer and then something for Floyd in fall.
"We can do some crossover stuff or something in boxing.
"Our experience with Floyd was quite pleasant. Haymon is amazing to work with.
"Floyd, I and I made a deal at the basketball match. We'll figure out the rest."
McGregor has not been ruled out by Mayweather, but Mayweather said that he would consider a second fight.
