Usman, the UFC's No1 pound-for–pound fighter, has threatened to overtake GSP as the greatest welterweight ever.

Edwards' dramatic head kickKO was the moment that made Edwards the second UFC champion in Britain.

SunSport's St-Pierre, 41 years old, said that each of them has different qualities that make them great.

"Leon Edwards did a fantastic job, what a beautiful setup he did last Saturday, it took everyone by surprise, it truly was incredible.

"Usman is an excellent fighter. He was on his way towards winning the fight, and then surprise."

St-Pierre, who had defeated Michael Bisping in the UFC two years earlier, retired in 2019.

After talks with Khabib Nurmagomedov (33), the Canadian icon was lured back to the octagon.

The super-fight was ended after Nurmagomedov's death. This inspired him to retire.

GSP had previously agreed to fight Oscar De La Hoya (49), but was disqualified as he still had one fight on his UFC contract.

St-Pierre currently serves as an advisor to Karate Combat, which is the only full-contact sport league.

He has been urged by Adam S. Kovacs, the president of the promotion, to get back to his karate roots that he began at age seven.

St-Pierre commented on Karate Combat’s recent Florida event and maintained that his fighting days are over.

He stated that he didn't physically feel unable to do it. It's only that emotionally, I don't want the competition anymore.

"Fighting doesn't excite me anymore. I love to train, but it's too risky to take on the full-contact fight sport. There isn’t enough reward for the risk that you would take."
