Miesha Tate was harshly criticised for her comments on OnlyFans
Her comments that many fighters use OnlyFans as a source of support were harshly criticized by the MMA legend.
Tate has however made a U-turn and tweeted: "I was being harassed. I responded jokingly. This is being taken out of context.
"I support women doing what they want."
Tate, future UFC Hall of Famer, responded to one of her critics by saying: "That's fair. I am truly sorry. I have friends in the industry and support that 100%."
"It was never my intention to make anyone feel bad, I am only human and I let someone mad. What I said to them did not reflect how I feel about the whole thing."
Later, she said that "It's just the times we live and i can only do nothing but apologize for something I did not intend to be taken in the way it was."
"The headlines don’t quote me only one sentence I used, and intentionally took it out of context. This is a position I have always held publicly.
"Ask @KendraLust she's my fav."
Lust, an adult actress, went to bat for Tate. Tate has always been a champion for women having the freedom to choose their career.
Lust tweeted: "I know Miesha, she is a good friend...I know it came off.. but that's not what she meant."
"She has always supported me. She is 100 percent my belief
"Miesha is the sweetest woman that wouldn't put other women down for their career choices. Its adult."
Tate is currently preparing for a May return in the Octagon, which he last graced last November against flyweight contender Lauren Murphy.
This bout marks the debut of the 35-year old flyweight and a win will place her in the running to face Valentina Shevchenko, the 125lb queen.
