TOP-RANKED UFC Lightweights are 'genuinely worried' Conor McGregor could fight in his return fight and skip the line.
Justin Gaethje, an interim champ at 155 lbs, is currently No.1 for Charles Oliveira.
Conor McGregor wants to fight for the lightweight title
UFC supremo Dana White refused to rule McGregor out of the lightweight belt fight if he returns to the UFC later in the year.
The No.3-ranked Beneil Dariush is apprehensive that The Notorious might soon be facing Oliveira.
The Schmo was told by him: "Honestly, it's possible."
"We were actually concerned. "We were actually concerned. We will be pushed back to 2023.
"So, I pray it doesn't happen. If Justin wins or Charles wins, they might be like, "I deserve a money fight."
"We'll see. "I hope not."
McGregor, 33 years old, is currently recuperating from the terrible broken leg that he sustained in his fight with Dustin Pourier last July.
The Irishman said he would walk right into a title fight even though he was still on crutches.
He said last August that the leg tho would be more than capable of kick.
"I am billi walking straight towards a title shot on the return, and it sickens my bums.
"Which is why these constant disrespectful remarks come by way. God bless them.
McGregor, a former two-division champion, is expected to return to the UFC at some point during the summer. However, the UFC has yet to plan for his return.
UFC chief Dana White said that the Dubliner could face Nate Diaz in a three-fight fight.
"I believe Conor will be returning in the summer. But, I'm not sure. It all depends on how his leg heals.
"There are a million possibilities that could occur between now and then. It is foolish to speculate. That is why I stopped doing it.
"When McGregor calls me and says he's ready for training 100%, then I'll talk about Conor's possibilities."
