UFC lightweights are told to "blame yourself" if Conor McGregor is given shock title shots upon his return

UFC lightweights are only to blame if Conor McGregor jumps the queue to get the next chance at the 155lb title.

Charles Oliveira, the reigning champ, has expressed interest in facing the Irishman for his second title defense - even though Justin Gaethje is the No.1 contender.

Michael Bisping, a former champion middleweight champ, believes the 155ers should be ashamed that Oliveira will face McGregor next

Many top 155ers, Gaethje included, have been critical of McGregor's ability to walk straight into a title fight. But former middleweight champion Michael Bisping believes that they shouldn’t be surprised if McGregor does.

On his YouTube channel, The Count stated that "a lot of people in the top 15, top 5 and top 10 they're going to say, 'What's the f**k?

"Why is Conor McGregor getting the skip line?

Guess what? You know what?

"The fights we want to see are those that the UFC puts up.

"So, Conor McGregor may get to fight the champion without even being ranked. Don't be mad at Conor McGregor. Dana White is not to blame. Blame the UFC. Blame your-f**king self. You are ultimately responsible.

UFC supremo Dana White refused to rule out McGregor taking on Gaethje for the 155lb belt, despite declaring Gaethje as the No.1 contender.

ESPN reported that he said: "If all goes well with his leg healing, he'll return this summer.

"I don't know what the landscape will look like when he returns.

"Dustin Poirier might be retired before McGregor returns.

"I don’t know [if he could compete for the title immediately when he returns]. "I won't know the answers until it gets closer."

McGregor, 33 years old, is currently recuperating from the terrible broken leg that he sustained in his fight with Poirier's Trilogy.

The Dubliner claimed that he would walk into a title shot right after his return.

He tweeted: "The leg, tho will more than equipped for kick.

Conor McGregor could return to the Octagon in the summer

"I am billi walking straight towards a title shot on the return, and it sickens my bums.

"This is the true reason for all these disrespectful comments. God bless them.

McGregor, a former two-division champion, is looking to make an April return in sparring. This could open the door for a summer return.
