The Dubliner almost missed the catcher by so much that it nearly hit some spectators in the stands.

Social media users quickly dubbed the effort of the former two-weight world champion 'the worst pitch in history'.

White said he was offered the opportunity to do it several times, but he will not take the chance to make a fool of himself.

Jim Rome asked him: "Let's start here: Do we know how many times we have been asked to throw the first pitch? It's something I won't do. Never.

"Just like the guys who believe they can fight, men think they can throw a ball to home plate. It's much harder than it seems.

McGregor was furious on social media when people compared his effort with 50 Cent's famous weak throw from home plate.

The Notorious launched a social media rant in which he attacked Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, while boasting about his earning power.

McGregor uploaded videos of both and wrote: "The audacity that compare mine with this ***!

This is what "picture to picture" alone can show. My pitch was, barring the accuracy, the strongest and fastest of all these athletes/ artists over the years. No comparison.

"Smoke them up, down that Forbes I do. Get Messi over. Smoked. Cris. Smoked. Federer. Doubled. All-time Most Powerful!

"Put me into the Wrigley Hall of Fame for that rocket launch. You can also find some nice red brick. Mahogany Oak Frame. Wimbledon lines in the lawn

"The Wrigley Field is a reminder of my Irish land. Impeccable."
