In 2021, Poirier and McGregor shared the octagon two times.

Although he has not fought Diaz nor Covington in the UFC, the 32-year-old American still calls out UFC stars via Twitter while wishing his followers a Merry Christmas.

Poirier wrote on social media: "Merry Christmas everyone!" !... Except for Nathaniel [Diaz], Conor McGregor, and Colby [Covington], but everyone else hopes you have a wonderful day! !"

He also participated in a Twitter conversation with Diaz earlier in the month. The pair even agreed to fight next month.

It has also been suggested that Covington, No1 ranked welterweight, will be fighting in 2022.

Poirier was back in the Octagon earlier this month and lost to Charles Oliveira to claim the lightweight title.

This was his second big-money fight against McGregor in January, and July. They had first fought each other in 2014.

Poirier's bold message following his high-profile bout against the Irishman didn't go down well with 'The Notorious.

Poirier was rebuffed by one: "Conor made your millions this year. You should be praising him."

Another wrote: "Man, @TheNotoriousMMA should start charging rent as much as he's in your head."

A fellow supporter laughed and said, "Conor basically paid for the Christmas presents that you gave out this past year."

McGregor was horribly injured in his leg during the fight between McGregor and the pair in July.

The 33-year old revealed that his leg was almost fully healed and that he intends to return to the Octagon as soon as he's cleared.
