Alex Pereira, a rising star in the UFC, has shattered the record for the hardest punch in the world previously held by Francis Ngannou. Pereira, a 36-year-old kickboxing expert, made his UFC debut in 2021 and has quickly made a name for himself in the sport.
Pereira's Record-Breaking Punch
Pereira's incredible feat was measured using a high-tech machine known as the 'Power Cube'. This device calculates the force of a hit in units, taking into account factors such as strength and speed. Pereira's punch registered an astonishing score of 191,796 units, surpassing Ngannou's previous record of 129,161 units.
Previous Records and Challenges
Ngannou's record had stood since 2017, with his punch likened to being hit by a Ford Escort at full speed. Despite many attempts to beat it, including by former World's Strongest Man Eddie Hall and UFC star Joe Pyfer, it was Pereira who ultimately claimed the title of the Power Cube champion.
Notably, another UFC star, Tom Aspinall, also made headlines by breaking Anthony Joshua's record on a boxing punch machine, further showcasing the incredible power of these athletes.
