Mendez says McGregor has the ability but doubts the Dubliner can trouble his fighter

McGregor proceeded to take to social media after the fight as he tweeted after Makahachev claimed the prestigious belt.

Crumlin native McGregor was among several interested observers of the fight and made a reference to Nurmagomedov’s late father and Makhachev’s old head coach – Abdulmanap – after watching it.

He said: “I have the system to hurt this style of fighting, guys, I’m telling you.

“Bro is a s**t jocks. Fat mouth, shut your mouth. You done nothing tonight except git against father’s wishes and run.

“It’s not father’s plan completed yet, pal. You know. Your people know and they talk about you.”

Now, Mendez, who has openly stated that he dislikes the Dubliner’s personality and brash comments, claimed his fighter would welcome a fight against the ‘beatable’ Dubliner who ‘he doesn’t care for’.

The San Jose coach says the Dubliner is beatable as he questioned McGregor’s mentality.

Speaking on Australia’s Submission Radio, Mendez said: “He has the tools to beat anybody, but will he? He’s been mentally incomplete there, he’s never been there.

“When was the last time he had a complete fight where he fought properly? He’s a huge name so whoever gets to fight him makes a huge payday.

“Obviously, everybody jumping at the bit to get a hold of him because he’s proven to be beatable.

“He’s not proven to be indestructible. He himself – he can hype up anything – so let him hype it up.

“I don’t really care much for him anyway.”
