Poirier, however, returned the favor in January 2021 with an KO. This was before all hell broke out in the Trilogy decider.

McGregor broke his leg seconds before the end round one. Although technically he lost, it made him furious and he demanded a fourth bout.

Poirier, however, is now ready to move forward after a year.

On the DC & RC Show, he said: "I'm likely not going to fight Conor anymore." Conor is not someone I want to fight again.

"That door is closed to me. It's only for the money. He beat me twice in succession.

"Can I beat these two performances?" Can I knock him out quicker? Can I 10-six him? What can you do? I've done it.

"If I do it again it's only for money. That's quite a different thing.

McGregor, 34 years old, spent the past year recovering from a broken tibia sustained at UFC 226.

Poirier, 33 years old, is preparing for a comeback fight against Justin Gaethje.

He stated, "Justin Gaethje against the return of Conor McGregor." The hype, the buildup, someone's going to bed.

"It's a head-on collision and you're tuning into for it." I want to see a head-on collision.
