Kayla Harrison's Health Scare
UFC star Kayla Harrison recently disclosed that she had to be rushed to the hospital and was "peeing blood" just a week before her last fight. Despite the health scare, Harrison emerged victorious against Ketlen Vieira at UFC 307, inching closer to a shot at the 135lb bantamweight title.
Weight Cut Struggles
Harrison, a two-time Olympic judo champion, used to compete at 155lb before transitioning to the UFC, where she fights at 135lb. The drastic weight cut and body transformation took a toll on her body, leading to her hospitalization prior to the fight. Harrison acknowledged the challenges, stating, "I know I can be better and grow from it."
Future Title Aspirations
Despite the hurdles, Harrison remains determined and has her sights set on facing bantamweight champ Julianna Pena and UFC legend Amanda Nunes. Expressing her ambitions, she mentioned, "I want to win the title, give Amanda time to get back in shape and train. She can be training for me that whole time. I'll go f*** up Julianna real quick, and then Amanda and I can fight."
