Devastating Defeat

UFC star Rose Namajunas endured a painful dislocated finger during her recent loss to Manon Fiorot at UFC Paris. Moving up to the 125lb flyweight division, Namajunas hoped for a victory but was ultimately beaten on points, marking her second consecutive loss.

Brutal Hand Injury

Namajunas' manager, Brian Butler, revealed that the gruesome hand injury occurred early in the fight. Sharing a photo of the dislocation, he stated, "Very first clash of the fight this happened to Rose Namajunas' hand. Mental battle proceeded for the remainder of the round and into round two… By the third round, Rose was ready for two more… the fight game smh [shaking my head]."

A Weight Class Dilemma

Stepping up to flyweight for the first time, Namajunas now faces uncertainty about her future in this division. Her opponent, Fiorot, advised her to move back down, saying, "I think she’s lacking a bit of power in this weight class. I don’t know what she’s going to do after, if she’s going to stay there or go back, but I don’t think it’s her weight class."

Championship Aspirations

Fiorot, on the other hand, has her eyes set on the flyweight championship. She firmly believes that she deserves a title shot and scoffed at the idea of facing Erin Blanchfield in a number one contender bout. Fiorot confidently stated, "To me, I clearly deserve the title shot. I don’t see why I’d fight Erin. But if I have to, and I don’t have a choice, for sure it’s going to be an easy fight for me."
