KAMARU Usman won his welterweight title by beating Colby Covington in a grudge match at UFC 268 in New York.

The opening rounds were dominated by Usman, who was making his fifth defense of the title at welterweight.

After a headbutt, Covington received a cut to the face.

He was twice knocked down in round two, but he managed to hang on until the buzzer.

However, Usman was unable to take advantage of the situation and Covington won his way back in to the contest.

In the fourth round, the challenger was strong and tagged the champ multiple time.

Both fighters tried to get it in the fifth round. However, neither was able land the decisive blow. In the end, it went the full distance.
