VALENTINA SHEVCHENKO has tipped Amanda Nunes in an attempt to avenge her shocking loss to Julianna Pena, and regain the women's bantamweight throne.
The end of Nunes' six-year reign in 135lb as UFC 269's co-main event last December was a remarkable one.
Julianna Pena stunned the world when she defeated Amanda Nunes at UFC 269
series, the pair will renew their rivalry.
After they have finished coaching the new season of The Ultimate Fighter, the Brazilian will attempt to avenge her stunning second-round defeat to the Venezuelan Vixen.
Shevchenko, the dominant flyweight champion, can't imagine any other scenario except for Nunes winning the fight of her former foes.
SunSport spoke to Shevchenko, Monster Energy ambassador: "I think Amanda is going to want revenge next.
"There will be another fight between Amanda and Julianna again because it is obvious."
She said, "If she prepares to the rematch and does everything right then she'll probably regain her belt. It'll be another reason why we have to move up bantamweight to complete our trilogy."
Nunes, 33 years old, revealed that she entered her title defense with injuries to both her knees. She claimed this had affected her conditioning.
Shevchenko noticed this and added that Amanda's fight with Julianna was different from her second fight.
"There are two Amandas. We'll see what happens next."
Shevchenko, the Kyrgyzstani murderer, has a submission win over Pena, newly-crowned champ Pena. Pena was arm-barred five year ago.
However, the possibility of a rematch against the 135lb Queen is not as appealing to her than a third clash against Nunes. Nunes lost to her in UFC 196 and UFC 215 respectively.
She stated, "Julianna has been crowned champion in Bantamweight." She deserves huge congratulations for a great fight.
"A few days ago, it popped up in my Facebook memories that we fought for, 'This Day' in 2017,... 5 years ago.
"My goal remains the same. Because there was no other option, I competed for a long time in bantamweight.
"Just strawweight or bantamweight. Flyweight (literally 125lbs) meant I had to adapt my fight style to fight bigger girls.
"I did not struggle fighting there. But when you find the best weight for your body, that's where your striking, wrestling, and it's a great experience.
"I want to fight at 125, defend my belt the best I can, and welcome everyone who would like to test their skills against mine."
