Training Clip Impresses UFC Legend
Conor McGregor is making headlines once again as he is predicted to have a triumphant comeback to the UFC. The 35-year-old has not fought since his leg injury against Dustin Poirier in July 2021. However, one of the promotion's all-time greats, Jon Jones, believes McGregor is ready to make a successful return to the octagon.
In a recent Instagram post, McGregor shared a video of himself sparring with a partner, showcasing his boxing skills. The footage caught the attention of Jon Jones, who commented, "McGregor looking smooth with it."
Return Date Still Unconfirmed
While no official date has been set for McGregor's potential comeback fight, he has been diligently training in preparation for it. The Irishman is expected to face fellow lightweight star Michael Chandler, as the two served as opposing coaches on The Ultimate Fighter.
Despite the lack of clarity regarding the fight date, McGregor has shown his commitment by submitting tests to the UFC's Vice President of Athlete Health and Performance, Jeff Novitzky. In an enigmatic Instagram post, McGregor wrote, "Find my targets. Hit them. F*** the consequences. You’re going down. This is fighting. Sparring day with slick @grozdevnikolay. Always a banger of a spar with the slick fella. Submitted my stuff to Novitzky. Ball rolling see you soon you little light work bitch."

Potential Return in April?
If McGregor is back in the USADA testing pool, he could be eligible to return to the octagon as early as April. This timing could align with the historic UFC 300 event, which does not have a confirmed date yet.
Michael Chandler Confident in Facing McGregor
While Michael Chandler acknowledges the uncertainty surrounding the bout, he remains adamant that McGregor will face him upon his return. On The MMA Hour, Chandler stated, "The fight is booked between Chandler and Conor. There’s no way Conor comes back and doesn’t fight me. If Conor doesn’t fight me, he’s probably just not coming back, and that’s out of my control. He’s coming back, he’s fighting me."
As UFC fans eagerly await Conor McGregor's return, it seems the stage is set for a highly-anticipated showdown between the Irishman and Michael Chandler. Stay tuned for further updates on this exciting development.
