FOOTAGE has gone viral of Conor McGregor's reaction when he was told off by Vladimir Putin's bodyguards.
At the final of 2018 World Cup Moscow, the UFC star met the Russian President - where France was crowned champions of all the world.
Conor McGregor uploaded photos of his meeting with Vladimir Putin during the 2018 World Cup finals to Instagram
McGregor, 33 years old, enjoyed a friendly conversation with Putin, a fight fan, whose presence he seemed in awe.
The MMA mogul asked for a photo with the 69 year-old and placed his right arm around his shoulders.
After a harsh word from Putin's bodyguards, he quickly removed it.
McGregor, who was fearsome, had a brief look of concern after the telling off.
McGregor took more photos of the pair, but McGregor uploaded the image of McGregor with his arm wrapped around Putin's shoulders on his Instagram.
The accompanying caption read: "Today, I was invited as a guest by Russian President Vladimir Putin to the World Cup Final."
"This man is one the greatest leaders of our times and it was an honor to be there at such a historic event with him.
"Today was an honor for me, Mr. Putin. We are grateful and pleased to have won the World Cup.
McGregor's meeting was a few months prior to his UFC 229 grudge bout with Russian Khabib Nurmagomedov. He lost that match via fourth round submission.
The Notorious has lost to Nurmagomedov three times, defeating MMA veteran Donald Cerrone twice and losing back-to-back to Dustin Poirier.
Putin has declared war on Ukraine, following months of increasing tensions, and ordered troops to invade Russia's neighbors.
Although there were clashes in other cities, and explosions heard in Kyiv, the invasion was described by him as a "special military operation" in Donbass.
He also warned superpowers around the world that there will be consequences for their interference, saying: "Whoever attempts to hinder us and even more to create threats to this country, to our citizens, should know that Russia’s response is immediate."
"And it will lead to such consequences as you have never experienced in your history.
"We are prepared for any developments in events. This is a matter for which all the decisions are made. I trust that you will hear me."
