Worrying footage of UFC star Jon Jones being detained by Las Vegas police
Jones was first arrested and charged initially with misdemeanor Battery, domestic violence, and injuring/tampering With a Vehicle.
The vehicle charge was a result of 'a medium-sized dent as well chipping of some paint on the vehicle' that fighter headbutted following an outburst.
Jones, aged 34, can be heard in the footage saying "Humiliating [on] my Hall of Fame evening." You f***ing nerd. I hate you. I hate you.
"I hate you. You f***ing nerd. I hate you so much. Your name should be known publicly.
"You turned me down on my Hall of Fame night just because I was big and black. What did I do?
"I came from my Hall of Fame Ceremony, and I'm Black, and I did not do anything to you."
An officer then asks Jones, distraught, to hang him. Hurt me and murder me. What did you do?
He cries and adds, "A black man cannot drink?" "Getting elected into the Hall of Fame and this is what you have?"
After police were called to Caesar's Palace in Vegas for a domestic disturbance, the arrest was made.
Jesse Moses, Jones' fiancee was allegedly bleeding from the nose and mouth. She later made a statement to officers, admitting that her husband had gotten 'a little physical with her' in front of their three children.
According to police reports, he was taken into custody and held after resisting arrest.
Jones was released that night after posting bail. Later, Jones pleaded nolo contendere for a lesser misdemeanor of destroying property.
The former champion of the UFC has not fought since February 2020 in a victory over Dominick Reyes where he gave up his light-heavyweight title.
Jones teased a move to heavyweight, and appears to have a positive attitude with a series on social media.
