WWE chief Vince McMahon met backstage with Olympic gold medallist Gable Stevenson at SummerSlam.
Las Vegas' Allegiant Stadium hosted the 34th SummerSlam event. The freestyle men's wrestler, 125kg, was there.
Gable Steveson, Olympic gold medallist, is being contacted by the WWE and Bellator as well as the UFC
He made sure to have a conversation with his boss before he left the show.
The 21-year old posted a photo of himself backstage with McMahon on his Instagram, with the caption: "The man that I wanted to see."
Steveson also took a photo with Triple H, the WWE's Executive Vice president of Global Talent Strategy Development.
McMahon met the Olympian two weeks ago after he disclosed to SunSport that he had reached out to him personally.
The Minnesota Golden Gopher stated that he has not thought about the future.
"I told everyone I was going home to relax and pick the best for me and what's next.
"I could win double gold in 2024. I could see Vince McMahon, who has reached out personally to me to perform WWE.
"Or, I could go to Dana White. "I mean, even [Minnesota] Vikings sent me a message.
"All options are available, all doors are open"
Steveson is also being approached by mixed martial arts promotions. Both Bellator and UFC are interested in his services.
White, chief of UFC, told TMZ this week that "[Gable] would be in town this Saturday, and I believe we're gonna connect and talk."
He still has a lot to do before he can get to the UFC. We'll just have to wait and see what happens."
Steveson won't make hasty decisions about his future, but he admits that the possibility of participating in MMA intrigues and inspires him.
SunSport reported that he was a "long-time follower" of MMA.
"I have been following you for a while.
"I feel like I've been crowned the worst heavyweight in Olympic wrestling. To bring home the gold medal.
"It would be a great honor to take a UFC title home at the heavyweight division. It could also cement my status as the worst man."
"Who wouldn’t want to be the best at both their job and the worst man in two things at once?"
"I can do it myself, I know that I can."
