According to Witherspoon, Anthony Joshua's fight with Usyk was EASIER that Ruiz Jr. and Brit could have won using two tactics.

Anthony Joshua beat OLEKSANDR USAYK much easier than Andy Ruiz, the former heavyweight champion.

Joshua's second reign of unification heavyweight champion was ended by Usyk, a smooth southpaw who delivered a masterclass at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in September.

Chazz Witherspoon, a former Usyk foe, believes AJ should have won the battle with the Ukrainian

AJ was unable to make the most of his power, height and reach over the undisputed champion cruiserweight.

Chazz Witherspoon, a former Usyk foe, believes that the Tottenham tussle was stylistically a more difficult fight for the Brit than Andy Ruiz Jr's ill-fated June 2019 meeting.

SunSport reported that he believed the Ruiz fight was the toughest, while the Usyk fight was a more manageable fight for Joshua.

"He might have believed that fighting against Usyk would be easy.

"Usyk gave him a lot more fight than he expected."

Witherspoon believes Joshua could have been preparing for the Battle of Britain with Tyson Fury if he had used more defensive footwork and set ups for his large right hand.

He stated that the fight was easy to win and all he needed to do was to be shown basic defense.

"He should have drilled his right hand. It's hard for me to explain but I could show it to him. He could be shown the way.

Witherspoon, who welcomed Usyk into the heavyweight division in Oct 2019, believes that Joshua was not his usual confident self prior to the dust-up.

American said: "He didn't have confidence or felt that it would be easier for him to win. Usyk was ready to fight!

"He was ready to fight a southpaw using his right hand.

"But it's not enough to just throw the right hand.

"He should also be able to touch the outside of his lead jab and southpaw's right hand.

"Get out and go in. "I can assure you, not many boxers do this."

Anthony Joshua vows to exact brutal revenge on Oleksandr Uzyk

Joshua, 32, is looking to free Usyk of the unified titles in a possible do-or-die rematch.

Although a date has not been set for the second dance, Eddie Hearn, promoter of the event, has confirmed that the bout will take place in spring.

Matchroom Boxing's chief stated that he believes it will happen by the end of March or early April.

"Both men are likely resting. However, AJ will be doing a little more preparation to make sure he does it right.

"There was a well documented trip to America to just look, learn, and see.

"I believe he will return out there towards the end.

"We will begin talking to Team Usyk in the next few weeks and pinpoint the venue."

Joshua has vowed revenge on London 2012 Olympian Joshua, telling iFL TV that he believes he can do it.

"I'm done with losing. I'm done trying to learn sweet science. Because this is war, he might be thrown to the ground in the next fight.

It's just war. I get annoyed. It's the passion to win that makes me boil up, even talking about it.
