After being given a controversial loss, a heavyweight boxer punched the referee.
Viktor Faust and Iago Kiladze put on an entertaining fight, with five knockdowns in each round on Saturday's Charles Martin vs Victor Ortiz Undercard.
Kiladze was brought down in Florida for the third time, but he managed to rise and win the count.
Samuel Burgos, the referee, was not content with his slight stagger as Kiladze was moving forwards. He abruptly called off the contest, causing a huge outcry.
Fans booed loudly as Faust, 29, celebrated taking his pro record to 9-0 despite just 32 punches combined in the four-and-a-half-minute fight.
Kiladze's anger boiled over in the ring, too.
Burgos, 35 years old, waved his right-hand at Burgos as he pointed a soft right-hand jab towards the referee's neck.
Burgos, shocked, stood firm and shouted at Burgos: "What's the f***?" Fight's over!"
Commentator who called the action said: "You can't do that." It's going to cost him a lot of money. You can't get violent against the referee.
Burgos was not hurt and is believed to have laughed about the incident later.
Kiladze could suffer a serious defeat.
Joe Joyce lost to the Georgian fighter in September 2018. Joe Joyce has won 27 of 34 of his boxing bouts.
Social media was divided over the flashpoint with referee.
One Twitter user wrote: "Never good to fighter touch a ref. But I don't blame Kiladze if he is upset."
"Not a huge stoppage IMO & ref did seem to show some favouritism towards the undefeated Faust."
Another wrote, "Kiladze punched referee!" LMAO! This is now a WWE-style fight!"
A third person added: "I don’t agree with the stoppage at any time, but it is not a reason that Kiladze should do that to the referee."
