Eddie Hearn SNUBBED TYSON FURY while he was 'about 26 stones'.
After struggling with his mental health, the Gypsy King was in 2017 boxing in the wilderness.
In 2017, Eddie Hearn and Tyson Fury met
Hearn, 42 years old, met him in Monaco in that year, but didn't believe he would ever be back to title contention.
Anthony Joshua's promoter revealed to the Boxing Social podcast that he was a close friend and it was difficult for him to reveal the details.
"AJ was my guy, and I just imagined beating him.
"With Tyson I flew him to Monaco, and he was 26-stone.
"He was sweating and I thought to myself, 'you're never fighting again'.
"So, the plan was for two easy fights. We meant the likes Sefer Seferi, which he did. Then, we would have a step up and fight Manuel Charr.
"I was just thinking... I wish I knew that he would fight Sefer Seferi or someone else, then Deontay wilder.
Fury, 33, cared for Seferi, Francesco Pianeta, before taking on Wilder.
After a thrilling draw with the Bronze Bomber Fury defeated Otto Wallin. He was then killed in a brutal battle. Wilder was twice defeated and Fury claimed the WBC belt.
Hearn says he is confident about his decision, despite Fury's phenomenal success.
He said, "I don’t regret.
"But I would have loved to have been involved with Fury-Wilder." That's my bread!
"That's all I live for. But at the same, I know that we had Dillian Whyte-Derek Chisora and such people. It would have been a very awkward situation to try to have Fury and AJ.
"You can't deny that you would respect Tyson Fury as a fighter and character because he has become a huge star."
Joshua's chance of facing Fury in the end will depend on how Oleksandr Usyk performs in the spring.
We take on Dillian Whyte, the Gypsy King, while we fight another Matchroom fighter, The Gypsy King.
