After Vladimir Putin's invasion in Ukraine, Russian and Belarusian boxers were banned from fighting in the UK

BOTTOMBOXERS FROM RUSSIA and BELARUS are now prohibited from fighting in the UK.

The harrowing invasion of Ukraine is continuing, but the British Boxing Board of Control has decided not to allow boxers from those countries to compete in the UK.

The BBBofC released the following statement: "The British Boxing Board of Control won't permit Boxers registered/licensed from the Russian Boxing Federation of Professional Boxing compete in the United Kingdom within the jurisdiction of BBBofC at the moment."

Ukraine has received the support of the entire sport, with Wladimir and Vitali Klitschko, both former ring legends from Kiev, fighting on the front lines.

Oleksandr Usyk, the WBA, IBF, and WBO heavyweight champion has put his Anthony Joshua rematch on hold to face Vladimir Putin's warped assault.

Vasiliy Lomachenko, a two-time Olympic champion and three weight king, is also fighting for his country.

AJ had planned to rerun his September loss to the southpaw genius in June, but that bout is now an afterthought while father-of-3 Usyk prepares for war for his country.

Video link from underground bunker Usyk revealed to CNN that he said: "If they want to take mine or my closest ones' lives, I will have the courage to do it."

"But that is not what I want. "But I don’t want that. I don’t want to shoot. I don’t want anyone to die, but if they are going to be killing me, then I will not have any choice.

"Maybe it sounds sentimental, but my soul belongs the Lord, and my body, honour, and country belong to my family.

"I don't know when I will be returning to the ring.

"My country and my honor are more important than a championship belt to me."
