Amir Khan, Kell Brook are "yesterday's men" - nobody wants to see the fight which should have taken place six years ago

Amir Khan and Kell Brook should be the first to get a double dose of a vaccine to prevent us from falling prey to delusions.

This is the second time that these ex-world champions have been beaten up and are now fighting one another.

Khan supported his rival's comments, and stated that contracts are almost finalized

Brook and Khan suggested last week that boxing fans wanted to see them end their long-standing verbal rivalry.

Brook stated, "I need to fight a lot and that fight is Bolton."

He then added: "Everybody knows that this fight must happen -- it is the biggest fight in British Boxing."

Although I don't know the exact location of Kell, he seems to not have heard of Tyson Fury or Anthony Joshua.

Khan, who was there to support him, said an announcement is imminent when speaking to talkSPORT: "Contracts still go back and forth so hopefully this week something gets finalized."

They were both very popular attractions six years ago. It's clear that if they had exchanged punches instead of words, they would have filled a football field with enthusiastic punters.

Unfortunately, their careers have gone sour since then. They have suffered significant defeats which have damaged their image and box-office appeal.

Khan hasn’t fought in over two years. He has been more interested in flaunting his wealth on a pathetic BBC TV series than in living it up in Dubai.

He lost his WBA World Light-Weightweight Title after Danny Garcia knocked it out nine years ago.

His last attempt at becoming a world champion failed when Terence Crawford held on to his WBO Welterweight title in 2019. Khan was accused of 'quitting’ in the sixth round.

Brook fought his last fight one year ago. It was against Crawford, too. But Crawford took only ten minutes to make Brook a complete wreck.

It would make sense if Kell and Amir were not multi-millionaires to try to get interest in a grudge fight.

They may believe that they are the British Floyd Mayweather Jr.-Manny Pacquiao confrontation.

They don't seem like they realize they're yesterday's men.

Nothing is worse than seeing former stars go through the motions and fighting from memory.

Unfortunately, we've seen it many times before. Barry McGuigan and Ricky Hatton are two great examples.

Brook and Khan are not people I want to see going through motions to try to relive past glory.

It's better to be late than never, they say. However, it's better to be early than never.

There are many situations where fighters need to be saved from their own actions, and this is one of them.

Brook and Khan might be able to forget about their financial woes if they are made aware of this by Nigel Benn or Chris Eubank when they were pressing for a third battle.
