Andy Ruiz Jr, former unified heavyweight champion, has revealed that his team is looking at THREE potential competitors for his next bout.
The Destroyer was last seen in action against Chris Arreola, a veteran heavyweight. He labored to a unanimous victory over the 40 year-old.
Andy Ruiz Jr plans a December return of the ring
Mexico's first heavyweight champion, Luis Ortiz, is eager to return to the ring.
Fight Hype reported that he was looking at Adam Kownacki and that he would be fighting in October.
"There's Charles Martin and Luis Ortiz. There are many guys out there who can help me. "I just need to keep busy and be active."
Although Ruiz's December return is tentatively scheduled, it's dependent on his landing an opponent.
The 32-year old underwent recent surgery to fix his right knee problem. He is now on the road of recovery.
He stated that he had just had surgery to repair a torn Meniscus. It was supposed to be operated on three years ago, but I was afraid.
"They gave me medicine, but the doctor said it was better to have it removed.
"I feel good, and I feel blessed. I should be back in December."
Ruiz hopes to put on a better performance later in the year than he did against Arreola in his comeback fight. He was forced to take a knee in round two.
He said, "Chris's a veteran and a tough puncher after his hard-fought win. We did what was necessary tonight.
"We won the victory we wanted. I was at my lowest and I now have to climb up the ladder again. I am grateful for the win and ready to move on.
"He beat me in the second round with a clean right hand. I was too confident and lost my hand. He deserves our admiration.
"We just kept pushing on and on. I switched gears and began to focus on counter-punching the body and working it.
"I felt a little bit of rust, and I know other fighters could relate to that." We'll go back together if he wants it to be run again."
