AJ's Disappointing Partnership with Garcia
Anthony Joshua, the British boxing star, has opened up about his time working with former coach Robert Garcia. Despite enlisting the services of the experienced trainer, Joshua believes that he didn't learn anything during their brief partnership.
Failed Rematch with Usyk
Garcia's tenure as Joshua's head coach came after AJ's first loss to Oleksandr Usyk in September 2021. However, their collaboration failed to produce the desired results. Joshua was defeated once again in the highly-anticipated rematch that took place in Saudi Arabia.

No Value in Joshua's Mind
Speaking to talkSPORT, Joshua shared his thoughts on his time with Garcia. He admitted that he didn't feel like he was being taught anything and didn't believe their partnership had any value. Joshua emphasized that he was still confident in his abilities, regardless of who his coach was.
New Trainer, New Mindset
Following his split with Garcia, Joshua has teamed up with Derrick James, the head coach of undefeated boxer Errol Spence Jr. Joshua expressed his admiration for James, praising his mindset and the valuable time spent together in the gym.

Confusion in the Corner
During the rematch with Usyk, confusion reigned in Joshua's corner as Garcia and trainer Angel Fernandez seemed to be on different pages. Joshua revealed that he only began working with Garcia after the recommendation of Fernandez, who wanted to gain more experience.
Bouncing Back with a Win
After back-to-back losses to Usyk, Joshua bounced back with a scrappy points win over Jermaine Franklin in April. Now, he aims to secure a multi-million-pound December rematch with Deontay Wilder by defeating bitter rival Dillian Whyte on August 12.
