After the narrow points loss, AJ quit Rob McCracken, his long-standing coach, and his Sheffield training facility.

Instead, he landed at Loughborough with Angel Fernandez as assistant trainer and hired Robert Garcia, a US mastermind.

Joshua has promised a whole new style and AJ's sparring shows that he is willing to follow through.

Sky Sports was told by David Ghansa, his camp manager, that they had recruited 13 sparring partners of all shapes and sizes.

Ghansa stated that they sought strong men, light men, traders, movers, and stand-ups. We had a wide range of people.

"So he went through the rounds. Some days it was one man in and one man out. But he's surviving.

"People were hitting it with their canvas. It was crazy. It was crazy to see people hitting the canvas.

"They came to get paid and it's been going on for years. It's not something I will hide."

Joshua was equally determined when it came to discussing his strategies for the rematch in Jeddah.

He stated that he wanted to outbox his opponent, regardless of whether it was Usyk, or any other, and that is the mindset.

"I wanted outbox my opponent, and I want to smash him on Saturday." This is just my mindset right now.
